Do you feel overwhelmed and have difficulties to stay focused?
Day to day tasks and organisational requirements can make us feel overwhelmed. We don’t know where to start and find it difficult to stay focused. Does that sound familiar? Try the following two techniques to help you to move on:
1. Start with the following breathing exercise:
Sit in a comfortable position and let your mind go blank. Concentrate on your breathing. Be aware of the air entering your nostrils and filling your lunges. Now focus on releasing your breath. Repeat this for a couple of minutes until you feel calm and relaxed.
Now let the thought of one project enter your mind. This can be the pile of filing to be done, a newsletter to be written, a presentation to be prepared, a move to be organised or a spring clean to be completed. Visualise this project in happy colours like yellow, white, gold. Give this project your full. Now ask yourself questions like:
What you want to achieve?
Why you want to achieve it?
When do you want to achieve it?
Visualize the ideal outcome. The brighter the picture and the more real the images in your head the easies it will be for you to stay focused and to let go of the feeling of being overwhelmed.
2. Goal setting to stay focused
It is common to find it difficult to know where to start and what needs to be done to transform your life. Take one step at a time and be specific. Write down and tell a friend, colleague or family member what you want to do in the next four month. By telling someone you create a commitment and research has shown that commitments help us to achieve our goals.
My Top Four Goals for the next Four Month are:
1.
2.
3.
4.
Remember to review and clarify your goals regular. Here are two tips how to set goals:
1. State the goal in positive terms, for example
Negative: ‘Stop losing my temper so often’
Positive: ‘Keep calm and relaxed in difficult situations’
2. Make a goal specific!
What, where when, with whom?
Let your imagination go wild. As Lauren Bacall once said: “Imagination is the highest kite that one can fly”

Prioritising
It has been a while but I’m back…..Lot’s of things have happened and I had to prioritise which is obviously the first role of organising and being in control. But now there is time for blogging again and I hope you will enjoy the upcoming news and tips.
Let’s start today with a quick fix for the disorganised
Before you start a project, no matter if it is a one off or ongoing project always remember the three top tips of how to plan it:
A - Write down your plan
The written word feels more like a commitment and you have probably many other things to remember
B - Plan ahead
You need to know by when you need the vital presentation material. It’s no good discovering that your printer needs a lead up time of 2 days when you need the material the following day.
C - Do your research
This can involve analysing statistics or sales figures, attending meetings or observing competitors. Gathering information will get you thinking about the project and boost your confidence.
Happy Project Planing!

In four Wednesday evenings or four Thursday evenings we will explore the effect clutter has on your mind and well being. Everything in your living and working space is energy, so clearing the clutter allows new energy to flow & de-stresses your life.

Feng Shui Workshop
I am off to a Feng Shui Workshop at Tir na nOg tomorrow held by June Harrison from Feng Shui Scotland.
I want to get a better understanding of the energy in homes and offices. This would help whilst I assist my clients to let go of clutter and get organised. I want to understand why certain areas seem to attract more clutter and how to optimise the energy flow. It will hopefully provide me with a deeper insight and give me another tool for my organising and de-cluttering services.
Does anybody have any experience with Feng Shui? I would love to hear from you.
